Cavitation - A pump killer

A not so common element in our repairs are due to a not so silent pump killer.  This problem is named cavitation and is lethal to your pump.  Since cavitation can make impellers look like they have been grinding through lava, we decided to share a video on the culprit. Many people are visual learners, including myself, so this video is a great teaching tool.

After watching you may find a need to update or re-evaluate your system.  We suggest, as does the industry standard, to have a straight section length of piping which is ten times the size of the diameter of the intake pipe. Additionally, we always suggest you consult or hire a professional to evaluate your entire system.
